Counseling I offer

You do not have to fit neatly into one area below. Concerns often overlap, and we can talk about what feels most important to you.

Individual counseling

Most of my work is one-on-one. Together we look at what is actually going on, how it is affecting your days, and what might help — then we build practical tools you can use outside the session, not just talk about them inside it. I welcome your ideas and feedback; this is collaborative, and you get a say in where we go.

When your mind and body won't quite power down

Anxiety

You might notice:

  • Racing thoughts, or a to-do list that never lets you rest
  • Tension, restlessness, or trouble sleeping
  • Avoiding things that used to feel manageable

We will get specific about what sets the anxiety off and how it shows up in your body, then practice concrete skills to turn the volume down — and to face the things anxiety has been telling you to avoid.

Anxiety may not vanish, but it can stop running the show. Most people find they can think more clearly, sleep better, and make decisions from a steadier place.

When getting through the day takes everything you have

Depression

You might notice:

  • Heaviness, numbness, or a flatness that won't lift
  • Losing interest in things that used to matter
  • Being hard on yourself for not doing more

We will start where you are — no pressure to feel better on a schedule. Together we look at the patterns feeding the depression and take small, realistic steps that rebuild some momentum, along with kinder ways of talking to yourself.

Small changes to self-defeating patterns can add up to real relief. The goal is to feel more like yourself again — and to have tools for the next low stretch when it comes.

When something from the past still feels present

Trauma & PTSD

You might notice:

  • Memories, flashbacks, or reactions that arrive uninvited
  • Staying on guard, or feeling unsafe when you are not
  • Numbing out, or avoiding reminders

I am trauma-informed, which means we go at your pace and never force you to relive anything to prove it happened. We work to help your mind and body understand that the danger has passed, and to loosen its grip on your present.

Trauma does not get erased, but it can stop defining your days. People often find more calm, more choice in how they respond, and more room to live in the present.

For the losses you didn't choose and can't rush

Grief & loss

You might notice:

  • Waves of grief that do not follow a tidy timeline
  • Feeling like you should be “over it” by now
  • Loss of a person, a relationship, a role, or a future you expected

There is no correct way to grieve and no deadline. We make space for what you have lost, and we find ways to carry it that let you keep living alongside it.

Grief softens at its own pace. Therapy will not hurry it, but it can keep you company through it — and help the memories become something you can hold rather than something that holds you.

When the shape of your life is changing

Divorce & life transitions

You might notice:

  • The end of a marriage or long relationship
  • A new chapter you did not plan for, or one you underestimated
  • Not quite knowing who you are on the other side of a big change

I know this terrain personally. We will sort through what is ending, what is beginning, and who you want to be in the next chapter — and build steadier footing for getting there.

Transitions are disorienting, but they are also an opening. People often come through with a clearer sense of what they want and more confidence to go after it.

Space to be fully yourself

LGBTQIA2S+ support

This may fit if you're:

  • Navigating identity, coming out, or how and when to share it
  • Carrying the weight of others' judgment, rejection, or misunderstanding
  • Looking for a therapist who won't make you explain or defend who you are

This is affirming, judgment-free support. Your identity is not the problem to be solved — we focus on whatever you want to work on, in a space where you do not have to translate yourself first.

People often find relief in simply being met as themselves — and from there, more confidence, self-connection, and room to breathe.

When home hasn't felt safe

Domestic violence

You might notice:

  • Walking on eggshells, or shrinking to keep the peace
  • Being controlled, isolated, or made to doubt your own perceptions
  • Carrying the effects of a past abusive relationship

This is a judgment-free place to name what has happened or is happening, at whatever pace feels safe. We focus on your safety, your clarity, and rebuilding trust in your own read on things.

Living with thoughts of self-harm or suicide

If you have been having thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life, you are not alone, and you are not beyond help. For many people these thoughts are part of what brings them to therapy, and they can be worked with — carefully, honestly, and without shame.

As part of ongoing counseling, we can talk about what you are experiencing, understand what is underneath it, and build a plan and a set of supports that help you stay safe over time.

This is not a crisis service

Therapy is ongoing, scheduled care — it is not emergency help, and this website is not monitored for emergencies. If you are in immediate danger or thinking about acting on these thoughts right now, please reach out to one of these now:

  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 — 24/7, free, and confidential
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741

You deserve support that can reach you right away, and these lines can.

Not sure where you fit?

You do not need to diagnose yourself or pick the perfect service before reaching out. Most people arrive with a tangle of things. We can sort it out together in a first conversation.
